Obituary for Vaughn Malloy

Vaughn Tyree Anton Malloy, age 42, was called home on December 21, 2023. He was born on July 22, 1981, in New London, CT to Jacqueline Brown and Rickey Malloy.

Vaughn was an Entrepreneur and a Rapper. He was a loving and caring son, brother, father, cousin, and friend. He was always available when his family and friends or anyone else needed his help. Vaughn was just a big cuddly teddy bear with a big heart, but most importantly he had a weird, unusual sense of humor. He just loved to make the people he surrounded himself with laugh. He was silly and loved to laugh.

His passion was music. Not only did he love to listen to music, but he also loved writing his own music and making his own as well. He was good at it.

He loved his family. He was close to so many of his cousins and people who weren’t blood related but to him, his family was blood or not. He loved them all the same. So many people who he has made an impact on just from his energetic characteristics, came to love him and his personality. He will be deeply missed by many.

He loved his daughter Havanna Mia Malloy, who he sadly leaves behind, more than anyone in this world. He would’ve given the world to her if she asked him to. He always said since the day she was born “she has me wrapped around her fingers, and she knows it.”

Vaughn is survived by his daughter, Havanna Mia Malloy; his mother, Jacqueline Brown; his brothers, Vachon Harrison, Vincent Harrison and Jason Shephard; his sisters, Tylea Banks and Jazmine Pemberton; his former fiancé / daughter’s mother, Maritza Ivettelis Rivera; along with his uncles and aunts.

He had a great number of additional family members he leaves behind: his nieces, Allana Harrison, Gianna Harrison and Alexus Shephard; his nephews, Alonzo Harrison, Jason Shephard Jr. and Jae’Shawn Cooper. He had a tremendous number of cousins, some of whom he was extremely close, which he hung out with almost every day if not all day. If you knew them, you knew that bond was unbreakable no matter what. Vaughn had a selected few who were his besties who he considered family.

He was predeceased by his father, Rickey Malloy; his grandfathers, James Harrison Sr. and Ulysses Malloy; his grandmothers, Bernice Leon and Vinetta Malloy; his uncle, James Harrison and aunt, Brenda Harrison; his nephew, Se’Maj Pemberton aka ‘Fatty Watty’ and his cousin Jamal Neal aka “Doughnut.”

Vaughn will be remembered for his silliness, witty sense of humor, and his love for his family and friends. He was taken from us too soon. His memory will forever live with us.

A celebration of life will be held at 7p.m on Friday, January 5, 2023 at Lester Gee Funeral Home, 108 Blinman Street, New London, Connecticut. Family and friend may view at the funeral home 5p.m until time of service. Interment will be private.
