Obituary for Shirley Smith Walker
Shirley A. Smith Walker, 82, of Groton, CT, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born December 4, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of James Trammel and Emma Brooks.
Shirley met her husband of over 40 years, Harry J. Walker Sr., in New Jersey before moving to Connecticut. She retired from the State of Connecticut, where she worked in mental health and developmental services. For those who knew her, she loved to spend time at the casinos playing cards.
Shirley was predeceased by her son William Smith and is survived by her husband, Harry J. Walker Sr., her son Harry J. Walker Jr., granddaughter Shakia Strand, her brother James Trammel of Virginia, and a host of nieces and nephews.
