Richard Thompson Jr., 44, of New Haven, CT, received his angelic wings Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael Campus.
The only beloved son of Richard Sr. and Shelia Watts Thompson was born February 16, 1978, in New Haven, CT.
Richard was known for his gentle spirit, grateful heart, loving nature, easy laugh, and his constant smile. “Lil Richard” completed the special education track of the New Haven school system and immediately transitioned to structured work and vocational day program. For the past 15 years, Richard Jr shared his day with the staff and co-workers of SARAH, Inc. North Haven, CT. Because of his loving manner and endearing nature, Richard was deputized as the Mayor of SARAH.
He found joy in the simple things in life, taking long rides, laughing with family, and sharing a meal with his favorite cup of hot tea. Richard was a blessing to the lives of so many and left an enduring impression upon all who happily made his acquaintance.
In addition to his devoted and adoring parents, Richard and Shelia Thompson, he leaves to celebrate his life of love and laughter: Aunts and Uncles, Gloria S. Watts, New Haven, CT; Anthony G. & Deborah Watts Miles, Singapore, Singapore; Bishop Benjamin K & Cynthia Watts, East Lyme, CT; Leroy & Willene Thompson, Cassatt, SC. Great Uncles: Professor Willie Ruff, Sheffield, AL; Professor Nathaniel Pruitt, San Jose, CA; Brady (Roseanne) Watts, Hamden, CT; and Jesse Watts, New Haven, CT, and a large family circle of cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Welcoming him to the heavenly family reunion are his Grand Parents: Prophetess Yvonne Watts, Deacon Bennie Watts, and Mrs. Lucille Bland, as well as his precious baby cousin: Anthony G. Miles II
