Obituary for Kimberly Anderson

Kimberly Ann Anderson, 59, submitted to the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August 9, 1962, in Camden, New Jersey to the late Harriet Plotts. Kimberly attended school in the Groton Public School systems.

On Thanksgiving of 1979, Kimberly met the love of her life George Anderson, even though neither of them realized it and did not really care for each other. George almost drowned and Kim saved his life, that is when it was apparent, they couldn’t live without each other. They were wed on April 25, 1981.

Kim was a wonderful military wife and enjoyed traveling the United States with children in tow. After George left the military the Anderson family settled in New London County, Connecticut. This is when they made an awesome decision to become foster parents. Kim was awarded Best Foster Mother in 2002.

There are a few words to describe Kim, however the best one is Mom. She made it her life’s work to be a kind, caring, and loving mother to any and all that asked or needed one. Even in her final breaths she was giving to others as she was an organ donor who assisted numerous individuals at her time of passing.

At the time of her passing she leaves her beloved husband, George Anderson, children Daniel (Bill), Eric (Angelica), Robert (Katie), Michelle (Richy), Alan (Ottavia), Sandra (Wale), Shawn, Devante (Melissa), Dymond, Amalia (Neiton) Dosanjos, Jennifia Auclair, Tiffany Ragston, Mayer (Noelle) Brazile, Tinisha Ross, and daughter/granddaughter Selena Gaston.

Kim also leaves behind her siblings Bonnie Istatia, Ericka Plotts Mulh, and estranged brother Joseph Plotts as well as her sister-in-law, Sandra (Kelly) Walker, and brother in laws, James and Polly Anderson

She was predeceased by her daughter Kristina and brother Michael Plotts. There are also numerous nieces and nephews, with a special place for her nieces Stacey Istatia and Tasha Moore.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she leaves behind an abundance of them.

Revelation 21:4 – He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
