Obituary for Jeffrey Malloy Sr.

With great sadness,

We announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather
and great grandfather, Jeffrey Malloy Sr. on Monday July 17,2023.

Jeffrey was born in Alexandria,Va on October 17,1961 to Vieneitha Ellis Malloy & Ulysses
Malloy Sr.; he was the youngest of three. Jeffrey attended New London public schools, where he
met the love of his life, Darlene. He worked for many years at Shafner’s Furniture in Groton
until the business closed. He then went on to work at Bob’s Furniture as a repair tech until his
retirement in 2023.

Jeff loved politics, fishing, shooting pool, chess, dancing, spending time with family & being
the butt of his children’s jokes (aka Daddy moments). We can’t forget Darlene’s cooking &
winter green lifesavers. He often said, "if you want to know anything about politics, ask me.”
After retirement he took an interest in gardening and beautifying his yard. He spent many days
& evenings sitting outside admiring his work.

Jeffrey is survived by his best friend who happens to also be his wife Darlene Malloy (they
would joke that they grew up together).
He also leaves his children, that he was very proud of, Kenisha Jenkins (Sean), Jeffrey Jr. ( Vanessa), Jazlynn and Khristina. grandchildren (who affectionately call him Pop-Pop) Juwan (Krystina), Jaden, Xavier, Princess, April, Jaelynne, & Trevor. Great grandchildren, Genesis, Zionna, & one on the way. His in-laws William & Phyllis Wiggins whom he lovingly called Ma & Dad. Two furry granddaughters Remi & Zuri. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was predeceased in death by his parents, and brothers Ricky & Ulysses Jr.

Jeffrey will be remembered by his family for going to Cumberland Farms daily to get a large cup
of ice. His love of movies, trying new food, & documentaries. His children will fondly
remember Friday night music sessions playing all the old school music that they too have grown
to love.
We love you sooo much; your presence is missed already. You will forever live in our hearts.
Sleep well.
