Obituary for Jeff Nelson
Jeff L. Nelson, 96, passed away on December 31, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1926, in Carroll County, GA, the son of Jeff Nelson and Olivia Allman.
Jeff met his late wife, Estelle V. (Mason) Nelson, while stationed in Washington D.C., and had two children, Angela D. (Nelson) Bowe and Robert ‘Bobby’ C. Mason. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Jeff moved to Connecticut with his family, where he would reside for over 65 years and retire from Electric Boat. Jeff enjoyed watching baseball and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his children, Jeff leaves behind his grandchildren Eric H. Nelson, Henry Green III, Micahla J. Lee Bowe; great grand-children Janaya B.E. Williams, Denice Brady; and a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be a memorial service with military honors at 10 am., Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Garvin Street, New London.
