Obituary for Inez Thornton
Inez Thornton, 77, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 11th, 2023, at Bayview Health Center, Waterford CT. She was born in Colquitt, Georgia August 29th, 1945, to the late Arthur Thornton Sr. and Inez (Moten) Thornton. She later moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, to work as a caregiver and then settled in New London, Connecticut.
Inez leaves to cherish her children Leaser Thornton, Jeffery Thornton, and Yolanda Thornton-Fitch(George), along with her grandchildren, Shamel, Craig, Shetavea, Mychal, Mayah, and Jordynn; her great-grandchildren, Camarley, Ngai, and Kameron; her two brothers, Henry Thornton(Lillian) and William Thornton; her sister-in-law Evangelist Alice Thornton; and a host of nieces and nephews. She will gladly be remembered as Gadda, who loved to sing gospel songs and always had a smile on her face.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, January 18th, at Abounding Grace Ministries, 3 Connecticut Ave. New London, CT. The repass will follow thereafter at the RAFA, 135 Garfield Ave. New London, CT.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lester Gee Funeral Home in New London.
