Obituary for Gloria Chavez
Groton - Gloria Lolly Chavez, 82, of Brandegee Avenue passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1940, in Brooklyn N.Y., the daughter of Joseph Chavez and Felicita Iglesias-Chavez.
Siblings are Priscilla Chavez-Reilly, Alice Villafane, Victoria Delgato-Chavez, Eleanor Liriano, and the recent death of a brother Joseph Chavez.
Gloria was known for her youth of life, her love for family, and her constant search for unusual facts. She was adventurous from skydiving, rock climbing, and zip lining and yet took simple pleasures in going to the beach, watching fireworks, and blowing bubbles into the sky.
She is survived by a daughter Janie Rivera and son Jacob Chavez-Nichols and many family members whose hearts feel broken due to the loss of their monarch.
The burial will be held at 1:30 pm. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, 252 Mitchell Street in Groton.
