Obituary for Cora Murphy
Cora J. Murphy, 79, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022. Cora was a beautiful spirit, a beloved wife of 59 years, mother and friend. She was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church, New London, and well-loved in Girl Scouts, Double Dutch, former president of the Southeastern Connecticut Women’s Network, and season ticket holder for the Mohegan Sun women’s basketball team.
She leaves behind her daughter Nina Murphy of Wethersfield; her son Murphy II of New Haven; and her son Stephan L. Murphy of Flowery Branch, Ga. Her family in Missouri includes her sister Toni Pargo; her brothers, Glen and CoLarry Outlaw; nephews, Michael Hall and Mario Pargo; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Cora’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Garvin Street, New London. Relatives and friends may visit from 10 a. m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, immediately following the service.
